How to Print Your Poster
You get a high-quality, print-ready PDF. What happens next is your call — print it, frame it, mount it, tape it to a wall. Here's what we'd suggest.
Belgium & Europe
Not framing it? Go for A1 (DIN A-series) — print it and hang it as is.
Framing it? Pick 50 × 70 cm or 70 × 100 cm — standard European poster sizes, so off-the-shelf frames are easy to find.
Where to print: go to your local print shop, or order online through services like Vistaprint or Drukland — upload your PDF and have it printed and shipped straight to your door.
Either way, ask for:
- Matte or satin paper, not glossy (glossy catches glare and makes the text harder to read)
- Heavier stock, around 170–250 gsm, so it doesn't feel flimsy
Want it mounted? For a poster on a harder surface, ask your local print shop for guidance, or look for forex, foamex or dibond — that makes it a rigid board rather than a sheet of paper, so it hangs without a frame.
Want museum-quality? Ask for fine art paper (250–320 gsm, often cotton-based). It's a step up in look and feel, and most print shops offer it.
Where to buy frames: IKEA, H&M Home, Action, CASA and most framing shops carry both sizes. Any local framing shop can do a made-to-measure version if you want something heavier.
United States
24 × 36 inch is our standard US size, selectable in the order flow.
Printing: Staples is a reliable starting point — their poster service accepts a PDF upload and offers matte finishes. Local print shops work just as well.

Sizing & word count
The more words on the poster, the smaller the type gets to fit them all. Around 800 words is dense but still comfortable at 50 × 70 cm or A1; past roughly 900–1000 words we recommend 70 × 100 cm so the text doesn't become a strain to read.
Scaling down: the A1 file is made to be printed at A1, but it scales down cleanly to A2, A3 and smaller — we just can't guarantee readability at those sizes. A2 is about half the area of A1, so the safe ceiling drops with it: roughly 450–500 words.
Getting the best result
Ask for matte or satin paper. Glossy catches glare; matte keeps the text readable from any angle.
Print at 100% scale, no "fit to page", so the margins stay exactly as designed.
Framing it? A profile with a little depth suits the poster best. Passe-partout optional — the PDF already has its own white space built in.
